FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In principle, patients do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist as physiotherapists are considered first-line practitioners.

However, some lower-tier options provided by certain medical aid funds may require a referral letter from a doctor. Please check with your medical aid fund before contacting us for an appointment?

We are open from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

You can make an appointment by Clicking Here or by calling +27 12 343 9722 during office hours.

After booking an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email. Please read it carefully and, if possible, print the attached documents and bring the completed hard copies with you? If you are unable to bring completed hard copies, you can complete them on-site (please allow 15 minutes before your first appointment for this administrative process?)

Cancellation policy: We prioritize punctuality. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance by calling +27 12 343 9722, e-mailing grobler.physio@gmail.com, or sending a WhatsApp message to +27 83 415 2008? Failure to show up for an appointment or cancel within 3 hours prior to your appointment time without a valid excuse will result in a fee of R800. We will use code 72117 with modifier 0001, indicating "appointment not kept." This fee is your responsibility and cannot be reimbursed by funders, such as medical aids. If the fee is not paid within 30 days, the account will be sent to a debt collection agency.

The duration of a treatment session depends on the specific treatment provided. On average, treatment sessions can range from 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the individual patient's needs and the complexity of their condition.

Due to the comprehensive evaluation conducted during the first session, these consultations are priced higher than follow-up sessions. A preliminary quotation of treatment fees, is:

• Neuromusculoskeletal: The initial neuromusculoskeletal consultation (60 minutes) is quoted at R950.00, and follow-up appointments (45-60 minutes) are priced at R780.00.
• Respiratory: The first respiratory consultation (45-60 minutes) is quoted at R735.00, and follow-up appointments (30-45 minutes) are priced at R570.00.
• Home visits: An additional fee of R315 will be added to the consultation fees for home visits.
The exact amount can only be provided after an evaluation has been conducted. It depends on the required treatment, the relevant codes to be used, and the specific fees set by individual medical aids for those codes. Treatment fees may vary depending on the type of treatment, and can differ from treatment to treatment.

For medical aid schemes that cover the rehabilitation of Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB) conditions, we do advocate for funding. However, approval cannot be guaranteed as each medical aid scheme has its own rules for approving rehabilitation of PMB conditions.

Patients may prefer to contact their medical aid funds to confirm available funds before attending appointments.

Should the patient request the account to be submitted electronically to the medical aid fund, we will do so, with the understanding that the patient remains responsible for any payment shortfalls.

If the person responsible for the account prefers to pay us directly, our preferred payment method is via card payments on the day of the consultation. Statements are not generated during the consultation; an invoice will be sent via email once the payment reflects in our bank account. Please note that we operate in a cash-free environment?

Our long-legged Fox Terrier, named Liefie, provides emotional support to patients, their friends, family, and staff. We have observed positive outcomes of Animal-Assisted Therapy, including reduced pain and emotional distress, and increased overall well-being.

If you have a fear of dogs, are allergic to dogs, or have any other reason for preferring us to confine Liefie during your consultation, please let us know in advance?
